The foundation, I think, would rest on the common convictions that (a) we do not miss out on anything by not living live to its fullest,(b) we take everything in life with the utmost seriousness, and (c) we can systematically decide what to do beginning with a state where we asume nothing and believe nothing (this means we deny the principle that different individuals inevitably have different interests,
